Normal?

About two years ago I was talking to a friend who had lived quite rough life and was a fairly new Christian. He had been going regularly to the tattoo parlour to get some old tattoos removed and was quite surprised to see a well known preacher come in and get flames tattooed on his shoulders. My friend was more than a little confused as the Lord had been taking him away from his worldy ways, as the normal (natural) man walks in the flesh, but a regenerated man walks in the Spirit (Romans 8). And so I guess that’s how it began…and now this 'preacher' is covered in them. Take a look…

Here, Patricia King introduces a recently tattooed and pierced Bentley (who appears to be comforming to the world) who ironically talks about Jesus Christ Himself appearing to him as a ‘normal’ man:

You know, this blog gets so many hits from people doing searches for Todd Bentley and William Branham because of on an older post I did called More Angels and Things. So every once in a while I check to see what Todd’s been up to (besides getting tattooed), and it saddens me very much to see how many sheep are following his teachings.

Meanwhile, Jesus said you will know them by their fruits. So watch Todd Bentley slaying people in the spirit…they all look pretty young too…in a zoo-like atmosphere that resembles demon possession more than the move of a Holy God. Take a look at these short youtube videos here and here.

What on earth is that? Once again, the culprit is (abnormal) signs, encounters and experiences in the flesh…

This is all so out of line with God’s Word I can’t imagine how people are drinking it in. If you have stumbled upon this blog and are following the teachings of this man, please, wake up and smell the snake oil.

Disclaimer: I don't agree with all the conclusions on this link, for example, the lion and lamb tattoo is not on his knee, it's obviously on his shoulder, and some other conclusions may be stretching it a little, however, the point is, this man has made quite a mess of himself, and there is definitely some demonic involvement in the angel thing.

Tattos and Body Piercing are sure means of giving rights to a demonic power into one's life Leviticus Ch19v 28. When a person accepts Christ as their Saviour they need to submit themselves for deliverance ministry. If this person has not recieved deliverance from all these problems. Them a demonic power will be working through him. It is just a part of the great deception that is coming in these last days. BEWARE CHRISTIAN AND READ YOUR BIBLE!!!

Thank you for your comment. The interesting thing is that Mr. Bentley has acquired his neck-to-hand tattoo collection just recently (in the last two years or so)...either while in the "ministry" or possibly on a sabbatical, as he has recently mentioned taking. There must have been some huge sale package at the tattoo parlour.

I agree on the body tatoos and piercings. I thought at first, until I did some research that maybe the guy had these from the past (you know we all have pasts), but since he has been a Christain doing this...definate red flag for me too. I am doing research becuase my yougest son wanst to see him while he is here in Lakeland Florida, I don't know how I am goign to tell him all this. Also, another red flag is Todd's association with the Elijah list. Have you ever read some of the stuff one there. Definatly new age.

That's right. A former bad dude with a tattooed past has a story. A pastor /shepherd of the flock with new tattoos has a problem.

Yes, you are right, the Elijah list is a triple red flag. It's filled with the false prophecies of modern day self acclaimed prophets who are prostituting the Word of God.

Sorry that your son wants to see this man...pray that his eyes will be opened to the truth before he goes.

And what's this 'different anointing for ten nights' right now with Bentley? Since when did one man have power to give people anointings? Since when did people get an anointing in one day? Don't we have to hear His calling on our life and respond and give ourselves to Jesus and be proven in our faith and love for Him? It kind of sings like everything else in the world these days that's fast and instant without sacrifice and love and obedience.
And since when did God say He will not bless us if we don't give first?!! If that were the case we'd be done for in hell because we had nothing to give except our sins! And HE gave His Son for us all. I'm sure that God provides all our needs as we obey and speak of Him and do the work He's given us. Sowing seed for financial reward from God has little or no WORD backup. Since we can do all things by the anointing of the Holy Spirit as we give Him our lives. We are to give with one hand without the other hand knowing. God will exceed our expectation if our lives are given.

I would just like to mention Lev. 19:27 since others want to point out Lev 19:28. In Verse 27 we read, " Do not cut the hair at the sides or your head or clip off the edges of your beard." Wow...that's got to be a blow to most churches/denominations of the world! I would also like to point out Galations 3:19; 23-25
" What, then, was the purpose of the law? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed ( Jesus ) to whom the promise referred had come. The law was put into effect through angels by a mediator." " Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law."
The Word also declares in several places that the "Old Covanent" was abolished and replaced by the " New Covanent."
Galations chapter 3 speaks of Faith -vs- Observance of the law. I would highly recommend this for anyone who thinks that they are bound by laws... laws which Jesus Christ came to unbind us from. This one especially stood out to me. ( Gal 3:5 ) " Does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you because you observe the law, or because you believe what you heard?" The basis for Christianity is Faith. Yes, do read your Bible... but do so while asking the Lord to reveal to you His Spirit of Revelation and Truth. Do so with the guidance of His Wisdom and Understanding. Do not lean on any man for answers, but press in to God and He will not lead you astray.

A lot of the laws God gave were in context of Pagan worship and that he didn't want us to participate in the paganism at anytime. Man has taken those laws and generalized them without knowing the pagan customs and made them forbidden. Take the commandment Thou shalt not boil and calf in it's mother's milk. The Orthodox Jews have turned this into a separate meat and dairy doctrine when in fact it was a pagan custom and applied to the direct off spring of that particular animal and not a ban on meat and milk together. At the same time we see a lot of mixed paganism in the Church today with Easter, and Christmas topping the list. Deut 12:29-31 makes it clear God hates pagan customs and he is a God who never changes so putting the name of Jesus on a pagan custom doesn't make it kosher.

God put my mother in charge when I was a baby to teach me how to be a productive adult. She taught me to brush my teeth, eat right, cross the street safely. So now that I'm an adult I don't need to do those things anymore? Of course I do. Sadly many think that the instructions that God gave his redeemed people, Israel, were laws rather than teaching them how to live out their freedom from slavery. We who have been redeemed by the blood also have a freedom, but we still need to know the likes and dislikes of our God to know how to please him and walk in obedience to his teachings. We are just not in bondage to those teachings as if God will give us more favor if we follow them all. They are God's guidelines, once you come to Messiah you don't just dump them. That's the mistake that the church has taught for centuries and then embraces pagan customs giving them Christian names as if that some how cleans them up.

We have been doing a bit of research at this end of the world on the meaning of the KANJI tattoo displayed by Todd Bentley. I gave a picture of it to a Japanese friend. He pulled out all his dictionaries with ancient kanji in them and can not translate it. The problem is the central kanji is not recognized. The top and bottom ones are what everyone says they are, the top is Great or Large or big and the bottom one is king or ruler . The central one, however, is masculin not female, as some have suggested.But the actual kanji has been corrupted, maybe to mean something other than its intended original meaning. He also said it can not mean Jehovah, Yeshu, or Yaweh as Japanese do not have characters to mean these names and use them as they are. Also a single God is written similar to white. None of which are represented in the tattoo. He has either corrupted an ancient kanji or tried to create one or has just got it plain wrong! Either way it is not something to be proud of. Japanese consider people who are tattooed as 'Untouchables' or unclean and cant even be burried in regular graves. The comment this friend also made is you dont see Japanese getting around with English slogans all over them, so why do westerners insist on displaying Japanese Kanji. He has also handed the picture I gave him of the tattoo over to a Buddist Monk friend to have a go at translating as there are thousands more ancient kanji he hasnt bee through. Shall let you know the results.

just reading through the latest comments. Yes Jesus did away with the law, but so many cultures today still see tattooing as 'untouchables'. Doesnt Jesus say not to cause your brother to stumble?? If these tattoos are recent how would he go in Japan as an 'untouchable'??? WHAT WITNESS IS THAT? If he had a story to go with the tattoos, how amazing, but being a new addition to his body, what does it say about conforming to the world?

The last comment regarding Jesus doing away with the Law is another deception. May I quote from Matt Ch 5 v 17-18 which states:"Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets but to fulfill. For assurdedly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the Law till all is fulfilled". Heaven and Earth has not passed away as far as I can see. So neither has God's Law. The Lord has been using me for the last 20 years on teaching on healing and deliverance. I have been used by HIM to release hundreds of people from demons that had enter through body peircing and tattoos.
A few years ago Satan tried to decieve the church before in what was called the "Toronto Blessing".At that time many needed prayer to be released from the demons. What is most alarming is that many of these demonic influences reside today in the Body of Christ, so no wonder people are being led to another deception. We must be aware that spiritulist mediums heal as well as many new age occult therapists. BUT WITHOUT HOLINESS NO-ONE WILL SEE THE LORD. The Bible tells us that many may recieve another Jesus or another spirit. 2 Corinthians Ch 11. People have been know to have demons inside of them that name themselves 'Jesus' yet they have been released through prayer. But there is only one Lord Jesus Christ only begotten of the Father. About the Kanji: Go to Wikipedia, look up ENMA, you will see that a prince of demons, the king of hell and you will see Kanji-a couple identical to the ones Todd has. EMMA is the name of the angel he says he saw, he now retracts some of that. Coincidence?

About the Kanji: Go to Wikipedia, look up ENMA you will see the some of his Kanji symbols there, under this prince of demons, or also referred to as king of hell. EMMA is the angel Todd sees. Coincidence?

魔大王 the last person to post commented the Wikapedia article which had the Kanji above meaning "Great Lord Emma", but his is in a different order and the one that was indistinguishable by the Japanese person could be a stylistic variant of Emma? I do not know. Also I do not know if Emma would have been in his dictionary to find it. :) Just thought I would give a comment.
