David Hocking writes:
"It seems in the light of the coming Annapolis Conference on the Middle East that some Christians feel it necessary to prove that the promises of God to the Nation of Israel have been cancelled due to Israel’s sin and disobedience, and that the Church has no replaced Israel in God’s prophetic program! Guess again! Consider the Biblical facts..."

DID THE CHURCH REPLACE ISRAEL?
Vee has made a very good post over at Living Journey about this called The Unholy Divide which ties in with Bob’s posts called RABBIS WARN AMERICA OF GOD'S COMING WRATH and RICE POKES GOD IN THE EYE AGAIN.
So after reading all these, I thought to myself…hmmm…I wonder what America's favourite pastor is saying about Israel these days…is he giving any warnings to America?
So I looked around pastors.com to find the MOST CURRENT material and resources for pastors about Israel. There was The hope of Israel that says, God is the Hope of Israel…if you are in a hopeless situation, then you’ve shut out God...then I found something about a Global Village about the people of Israel suffering from something called ethnocentricity. That was about it...so I tried over at dear RW's church website…surely there was some urgent newsflash about the very important Annopolis meeting and dividing God’s land of Israel!? Well, the number one thing that came up on a search when I typed in Israel was something by a church member called Would Moses Have Made a Good CEO? (about God transforming your business and leadership for his glory - if you let him). The next thing that had any significant mention of Israel was this Purpose Driven Bible study (by another Saddleback member) that talked about the history of Israel, and mentioned that when we read or watch the news we can become very discouraged about the future. What it boiled down to was our purpose…God’s plans for us. Nothing about Israel. Okay, forget that. Next, I tried the newsletter…nope, nothing there either. Just stuff about celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas, getting M.O.R.E. out of the Better Life, finding your S.H.A.P.E. and jump starting you spiritual growth by being more like Jesus.
So I wasted 10 minutes of my life...but was not terribly surprised, as RW himself has said that we should not waste our time on silly things like Bible prophecy, as Jesus always "avoided the subject" when asked, and after all, we are to be more like Jesus. Perhaps this is why he has extra time to host more popular things like Global Summits at his church (see: Hillary Clinton to speak at Rick Warren's church -onenewsnow.com).
Ahhh…but here's something I did find... it appears RW does have an interest in end time peace plan meetings after all! As long as it’s his P.E.A.C.E. Plan, that is. Read about it here:

All silliness and sadness and biblical illiteracy aside...this is serious business. Never before in history has the church been at a time like this...when we may be able to witness all the things prophecied in God's word come to pass before our very eyes (i.e. famine in the land for the Word of God, ear tickling teachers, Russia and Iran alliance, technology that will enable the mark of the beast, mockery and men saying where is the sign of His coming...etc.). Yes, these are interesting times, but if you are a Christian... not to fear...
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. Luke 21:28

On another note... I will get back the "that book" review I started yesterday...but it might not be until tomorrow.
