Why do people hang on Oprah's every word? Why is it that her book picks become instant best sellers even if they are New Age junk? Take the latest one, "A New Earth", by Eckhart Tolle. In just four weeks, 3.5 million copies have been shipped. See this:

I blogged a little info on what this book is about a month ago, here. Somewhere in that post is a youtube clip of Eckhart Tolle's New Age drivel that nearly put me to sleep. Not only is this guy 100% New Age, he is also one of the spiritual leaders on Living Luminaries, with quite a bunch. Read about that here.
First I was shocked that Oprah is promoting such blatant New Age spirituality. Now I am shocked to see how many people are actually buying into it.
