Now if anyone doesn't know about these guys, read about Paul Cain, Jack Deere, and Rick Joyner here. They are all pretty much false prophets in my books.
Of Paul Cain, Jacob Prasch (in an article I recently read called Joel’s Army) says this:
“ One of the modern day prophets, Paul Cain…announces joyfully that there is an empty place on Jesus’ bosom for those who can “enter in”. The problem with this “elitism” theory is that Christians are to enter into the “inner court” of God, not by the way of the Cross, through faith, but through a subjective experience of a “nirvana” experience.(…)That's just great. Then there's this:

Beware the New Prophets
-some interesting things about Rick Joyner, Bob Jones, Mike Bickle and Paul Cain
And of course we all know about the Benny Hinn thing. I think most people who read here are up on the latest, but there is information on him here for those who are not aware:

Now the back cover of Todd Bentley’s book is not much better...it has been endorsed by the following people:
Dr. Che Ahn
Mike Bickle
Bill Johnson
James Goll
Dr. Mahesh Chavda
Bobby Connor
Patricia King
Stacey Campbell
Of course, that's Patricia King of the (extreme prophetic) Elijah List. Stacy Campbell is a strange one (watch here). And there are also problems with Mike Bickle's teaching (or see here.) And I don't know who all these other guys are who have endorsed Todd Bentley's book, but one does stand out...James Goll. Check this out...back in April 2004 in Abbotsford, B.C., Canada was something called Fresh Fire's Strategic Keys Apostolic Conference. Among the speakers were Todd Bentley and Jim (James) Goll (see here). This is the kind of thing that James Goll came up with at the conference:
James Goll said that in this apostolic move Jesus Christ is the chief cornerstone and authentic abandoned Christianity with radical obedience will be its marks. He noted that in the early church, when the school of the spirit and the school of the word came together, the apostolic church was birthed. This relational movement today will function in the diversity of leaders of different backgrounds, streams, races and genders. Bruce Friesen added that in this diversity new regional strategies would be discerned while certain unchanging apostolic principles would be followed….Uhhh...okay...convergence of the ages? Diversity of different streams? Mr. Goll has a lot of gall! It's coming to pass all right, but it's all part of the New Age plan. So just where on earth is he getting his prophecies from? Oh, and it turns out James Goll (or Jim Goll) is VERY contemplative...just check this out:
James Goll then delivered a powerfully prophetic message about the "Convergence of the Ages" the church is moving into. He said that God is bringing together diversity in unity—the new wine would be found in the cluster.
Jim Goll:You've gotta read the rest to believe it. And hey, did anyone know that even Todd Bentley has gone over the contemplative side? Oh yes, it's true. Check this out:
Be Still and Know

Contemplative prayer often has been relegated to ancient church history. But God is restoring it as a means to develop intimacy with Him.
I have found that the most direct road to greater intimacy with God has come through the practice or discipline of an almost lost art in the fast-paced church of today--something called contemplative prayer. More than a decade ago this type of prayer came to my attention through some experiences God ordained, and since that time it has become one of the central features of my walk with God....

So it looks like it IS all converging...contemplative prayer, mysticism, different streams, New Age, and now the signs and wonders movement is converging into this same stream, with Bentley and his out of body experiences, angelic visitations, manifestations of kundalini serpent power symptoms, third heaven visions and visits with "jesus" with the Bambi eyes. Give me a break! Who would have ever thought that the Silence and the old "Be Still" thing was going to connect them all together?
Oh, one more, this is interesting and crazy...

Okay, now that I have had my rant, maybe I can get some sleep.

Great blog - thank you!
Justin Peters wrote this observation from his first hand experience at Lakeland:

Here is his site: http://www.justinpeters.org and be sure to watch "demo." It is an overview of his seminar entitled, "A Call for Discernment." He gave this seminar at my church and comes highly recommended by my pastor, Dr. John MacArthur.
Thank you Caron. I've watched Justin Peters...he is very very good.
Great :)
