Genesis is a Literal Account

It's been quite a few years since I read The Genesis Flood by Henry Morris and John Whitcomb. All I remember now is that it was very thick, took me one year to read, and that it grounded my worldview in an amazing way.

Today I read an interesting thing about this book. Apparently, those who have a literal view of Genesis, like Morris and Whitcomb, logically have a literal view of Revelation, as they believe that "consistency in interpretation demands a link between a literal Genesis and Revelation." The interesting thing is that those who believe in a 6 day creation are dispensational premillennialists. In simple words, they believe in the rapture of the church before a seven year tribulation which is followed by the 1,000 year reign of Christ. Then comes eternity.

Therefore, it comes as no surprise that so many have given up their blessed hope as the whole world, and even the church, has become brainwashed with the theory of evolution.

Great point Carla. I for one have never doubted Genesis as being a literal account.

No scripture twisting is need to understand it the way it was written. You could read out the account to a child and they would understand it as 6 literal days.

Nice post!
