Dunce or Demoniac?

As I watched the following video clip that someone sent me, I truly wondered if those were dummies or mannequins in the audience, as real people couldn’t possibly be actually listening to these things and taking this guy seriously. Could they? Then one of the heads in the audience moved…a mechanical dummy perhaps? Then another moved. No, these are real people. How can they take this garbage in?

John Crowder Jesus on the main line?
www.youtube.com

Yes, it’s another clip of Mr. Crowder the Holy Ghost toker, only this time he compares Jesus to heroine. But wait, it doesn’t get any better. If you can't bring yourself to watch it (and I don't blame you), he then goes on to talk about letting Jesus out, like "The Gaper," good old Joseph of Cupertino, the patron saint of those traveling by air and astronauts. His nickname was the flying saint, and this was because he was one of the oh so many Roman Catholic mystics who often levitated. Crowder says St. Joseph had 'third heaven encounters' and ecstasies, about which you can read in more detail here:

ST. JOSEPH OF CUPERTINO: THE DUNCE—1603-1663

This begs the question, was Joseph a dunce or a demoniac?

By the way, the Crowders will be at The New Ecstatics festival this April. This kind of thing is so, so very sick. Know anyone who is a Crowder fan? Please pray for them.

Note: Others who have claimed to experience things like third heaven encounters and ecstasies are false prophets Bob Jones, Todd Bentley, and Patricia King, to name a few. Watch HERE (google video).

*Update:

Not as blatant as the Crowder's charismatic spirituality is the similar but more subtle ancient/future spirituality of the emerging church. The new emerging kind of Christians may not walk around manifesting strange 'tokin' the ghost' spiritual drunkeness as Crowder and the New Mystics, but are following the teachings of the same Catholic mystics (take the new monastic movement, for example). Reading the story of Joseph of Cupertino made me wonder why he so dumb in the first place. Was this natural retardation? Or was this demonic?

The truth of the matter is that levitation and ecstasies are not biblical in any shape, way or form.

John Crowder himself looks like a retard when he speaks about experiencing Jesus 'like a hit of heroine'. This is really scary stuff!

The emerging church wants to return to the ancient mystic worship and understanding. This time as far as I know was commonly called the "Dark Ages or Middle Ages" and the emergent church want to return to that type of worship!!! This fits in well with the post-modern culture because truth is relative and experienced based. Their form of church is to leave your mind at home and question nothing because the truth can be found within!

We may as well just throw our bibles away then!

Hey Vee, did I tell you how much I missed you? Glad you're back!

And ya, you've got this whole thing pegged right - going back to the darkness.

It's good to be back Carla, I have missed you too. :) It has taken me awhile to get back into things, and I am still recovering from jet lag. I felt my mind was really foggy for the first four days or so... and that has nothing to do with tokin the ghost!

Anyway, I just thought I would post that we are to be renewed in knowledge after the image of Jesus. And we are to put away our old practices... that means, we should not be imitating the world and its ways!

The Crowder Crowd is imitating the world by pretending to be high as a kite!

Col 3:9 Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices
Col 3:10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.

Ya, that's good. And then there's the first 20 verses or so of Ephesians 5...you know, you were formally in the darkness, but now that you are in the light, walk as children of the light, etc.

Hey, that's good you're starting to feel back to normal.
