BLESSED BRUTALITYTo believe it, read it HERE in The Now [@ www2.canada.com].
The fighter's face wrenches with pain as his opponent slams his fist into his face again and again. The crowd loves it. "Attack!" they yell. "Finish him!" It's hard to believe but this took place inside a church.

Meanwhile, even the mayor is not impressed.
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. 1 Peter 3:15,16

Isn't it interesting that the state is able to recognize the violence in this event when the church can't? This is almost enough to make one nostalgic for the nice, peaceful "power teams" of the early 1990s.
Hello JHJ,
Ah yes, the good old power teams...and the hot water bottle bursting, iron bar bending gospel. Actually, there was a power team that came to a church in our area about 5 years ago. I guess this is kind of a new twist on that. Only thing is, the power teams gave the gospel and had an altar call. The pastor of the Relate Church announced that they are not trying to convert anyone.
By the way, I like your blog. :)
2000 years ago the Romans sponsored these events. Now the Christians are.
