The drinks are on the church tonightMore at Canadian Christianity HERE.
CHRISTIANS are being driven to drink – but for all the right reasons, and only in moderation. Several initiatives are bringing believers and non-Christians together, outside the church.
Alpha on Tap
Alpha Canada is trying a new approach to its popular course, sponsoring an evening of gospel-centred discussion at a pub....

Huh, does not compute. What if you have struggling or recovering addicts attend this thing? What kind of message does this send? In our town, it would be like running an Alpha course with an evening to smoke pot while studying the Bible. Some people are getting desperate in trying new ways to attract people to the gospel. I guess they don't put much faith the the Holy Spirit can do the work of attracting people, so they put their faith in the "earthly spirits" to do the work.
Now that's a very good point!
Somehow I think Jesus met people where they were. Didn't he dine with sinners?
I said awhile back to one of my friends that the use of secular music
in worship services, and the open bar at Rob Bell lectures would eventually lead to church at the local bar.... I guess the ol' coffee shops are becoming to lame for emergent types..time to replace the comfy couches with bar stools. Sad indeed.
Bible believing and preaching, evangelist Barry Webb is holding Evangelistic meetings at Central Valley Baptist Church, 33393 Old Yale Rd. , Abbotsford. A bit of a contrast to your posting but a ministry that has blessed our whole family!!
