This evening I listened to a good sermon by David Hocking, who is going through the book of Ezekiel. Here are some things to think about...
Are good people deceived? Are people telling you about good books that are more life changing than the Bible? Are these books being promoted by Christian ministries? Are there women who are prophesying falsely today? Are we hearing lies? Is the T.V. seducing us?
Oh yes, says David Hocking. He even mentions the name of one such book, and says that these things are all an attack against the Word of God. So is contemplative prayer, because it is getting people to quit listening to only the words of the prophets, and instead listen for new things so we don’t need Bible teaching. (This makes so much sense and reminds me of those contemplative retreats that don’t have schedules and programs and teaching…just nice quiet listening time in silence, like Kerith Creek retreats that are "Not a conference where the days are filled with one seminar after another." In other words, no Bible teaching?)

How interesting. I've been reading the book of Ezekiel in my study for the past month or so. I can't wait to listen to these sermons to such a fascinating book that also speaks to the events of today! Thanks for posting this!
