Gospel Tract Society has Changed Their End Times View

There are all sorts of silly ideas and things floating around these days regarding end times. Not a week passes by that I don't get some kind of forward from some well meaning Christians that the end is near, we are in the tribulation, or that we'd better get ready and stock up for the tribulation, and other such nonsense. Surely, time is running out on God's timeclock, but some folks are going a little bit wonky over some things. And now we see that even the Gospel Tract Society has joined the 'we're in the tribulation' wagon.

Do you know that...

The Gospel Tract Society has changed their longstanding view in the last month. Lamb & Lion Ministries was first alerted to the change when the ministry’s successor, Tom Buttram, asked founder Dr. David Reagan to change the wording in his tract “Living for Christ in the End Times” (based on the article) from “Rapture” to “Second Coming.” The second alert came when a friend of Lamb & Lion Ministries contacted the Gospel Tract Society for copies of that tract, only to be told the remaining 6,000 in inventory were going to be destroyed.

Upon inquiry as to why the Gospel Tract Society would desire to change the wording and destroy the existing inventory, Tom Buttram responded with a very startling revelation. “As though someone reprinted my Bible overnight,” Tom Buttram now believes humanity has already entered into the Tribulation and the Church will not be raptured until the Seventh Trumpet Judgment has sounded mid-way through the Tribulation.

Whether you agree or not, Don Keonig's opinions are ALWAYS very interesting.

Especially since I believe the true church must be removed before the tribulation begins. God has only temporarily set aside Israel, He has never abandoned her, and all end times prophecy in the book of Revelation relates to Her. God is reconciling Israel to Himself and they will finally see and believe that Jesus is their Messiah.

I don't want to cause trouble or further divisions within the long-divided body of Christ, but I feel that I should share what I have been led to through the web - info that might possibly heal some of the divisions. Many believers are probably unaware of documentation uncovered in recent years about the long hidden beginnings of the pretrib rapture view. One historian has spent 40 years locating the earliest "rapture" documents in libraries throughout Britain and North America and his shocking findings have been endorsed by many leading evangelicals (Google "Scholars Weigh My Research"). At the same time there are some promoters like Lindsey and LaHaye who have made millions by promoting pretrib in books etc. - promoters who, because of great pressure to keep funds rolling in, have done much to suppress and/or muddy up the newly found facts about their 179-year-old view which has always been riddled with dishonesty including plagiarism, changing of early documents, phony doctorates, suppression and banning of evidence, and outright lies. For those mature enough to handle all this, I recommend that they Google "Pretrib Rapture Diehards" (note LaHaye's hypocrisy under "1992"), "Famous Rapture Watchers - Addendum," "Pretrib Hypocrisy," "Deceiving and Being Deceived" by D.M., "X-Raying Margaret," "The Unoriginal John Darby," "Thomas Ice (Bloopers)," "Letter from Mrs. Billy Graham," and "Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty." You might be thinking that "Many, if not most, believers in America seem to believe in pretrib, so who's to ever question it?" But the "many" can often be wrong, and even Jesus warned that in the last days "many will come in my name and will deceive many." Deceivers always promise something good and comforting (even if it isn't true). They're like fortunetellers. (Who ever heard of MISfortunetellers?) So we should always check out what the "many" think, especially since Daniel says that in the last days a few will instruct the "many" who will fall away during the falling away of II Thess. 2! I am convinced that if folks had known all along the facts that have been uncovered and authenticated re the pretrib view, it would have died long ago. Lord bless you as you examine all this. In Christ, Rebecca

After studying God's Word I came to the conclusion that the church will be raptured before the time of Jacob's Trouble. It's the interpretation that also fits best with the model of the Jewish wedding, and we are the bride of Christ, not appointed to wrath.

That said, this is not one of those 'essentials' that should cause division among Christians, but unfortunately, it has. Time will tell how it all pans out, so maybe we need to all be Pan-Trib. :)

This is a pre-trib blog, but all are welcome here to comment and express their opinions.
