Is His Name 'The Word of God'?

I just came across an interesting thing this evening. Perhaps it's just a bit of trivia for the day, but I was reading what someone said in a comment on another blog, that "the Word exists prior to, and is independent of, any text." So I was thinking to myself and wondering about that, because in John 1:1 I read that Jesus is the Word of God, and in Hebrews 4:12 that the Word of God is living. So while Jesus existed before there was any written text, how can He be independent of the written Word if He is The Word? Then I remembered this old song called Well, Haven't You Heard by 2nd Chapter of Acts (oh boy, I'm dating myself now - but isn't that song even more relevant today) about Jesus returning and His name being called The Word of God. Anyways, I looked that verse up in the book of Revelation and read it in every Bible version. The interesting thing is, it says pretty much the same thing in each one, except for the last one...

*...the name by which he is called is The Word of God. – ESV

*...his name is the Word of God. – NIV

*...the name of him was called The word, or Son, of God. - Wycliffe New Testament

*...His name is called “The Word of God.” - The World English Bible: Messianic Edition

*...His name is called The Word of God. – NASB

*...His name is called The Word of God. – NKJV

*...his name is called The Word of God. – KJV

*...he is addressed as "Word of God." –The Message

~Thought of the day... does "addressed as" mean the same thing as "is"?~

But then again, The Message is not a Bible, it's just a paraphrase.
