When the H1N1 vaccine is ready in November, expect children, pregnant women and those with underlying conditions to roll up their sleeves first. There is growing public skepticism about the H1N1 vaccine. Canada has ordered more than 50 million doses from GlaxoSmithKline... Health Canada officials have repeatedly stressed that the swine flu vaccination will not be mandatory for Canadians and ...that includes members of the military.

To be honest, whenever I hear about things like this, I am reminded of that box of Y2K memorabilia in the back of my closet that will some day be a collector's treasure. Sadly, so many, even Christians, profited from that false alarm (incuding those that denied it). For example, who can forget the Van Impe 200 Time Bomb (of course, it's always something - now it's the 2012 thing).
And so I wonder - will this flu pandemic and surrounding controversy go down in history as just another one of those 'things'?
Any thoughts from some American readers?

Well, here in the U.S. of A. I've heard all kinds of wild conspiracy theories regarding this vaccine. I don't buy into any of them. However, two things: One, I don't know anyone who is chomping at the bit to take this vaccine, and two, I personally don't want my child taking a vaccine that is so new and has been tested in such haste. I've heard that the government here has declared vaccine manufacturers to be immune from prosecution if there are adverse side-effects. I haven't been able to verify this. However, I did find some troubling information on the US www.hhs.gov (Department of Health and Human Services) website. Apparently, our government is citing studies that positively tied the 1976 H1N1 vaccine to deadly diseases. Also, it is documented on this site that our government is gearing up for a huge effort to manage unexpected adverse side-effects from the vaccine. That doesn't exactly inspire my confidence.

I was just watching FOX news and they said that Australia is the first country to roll out the vaccine on a mass scale. Those getting it are workers in the medical field and pregnant woman.
FOX was first to point this out... it hasn't been on our local news as of yet.

Yeah - baby boomers are already immune. Hence the shots for the children first, who will not be allowed to simply build up a natural resistance, for whatever reason.

Yep, the dollar is a factor to most of the things happening today. Including "Climate Change"... But hows this for a thought...
The whole swine flu thing could be manufactured not only to create money, but to see how the public reacts to disaster. That is if it really does become deathly on a mass level. It's a test! If it does become a world wide disaster then the government would have to have certain protocols in place to deal with a massive disaster. That includes being able to organise masses of people and have them documented and dealt with to ensure public safety...
The mind boggles at the possible implications of this.

Well, I know that my daughter had some type of flu... but they stopped testing for swine flu here in Australia.
I don't know of any confirmed cases personally By confirmation, I mean tested positive for the swine flu.
A lot of people said they had it, but they were not tested.
Who knows for sure???
Well that's the thing, it's just like the regular flu, so who knows? And most people just stay home and lay low and recuperate.
