Which Translation of the Bible is Best?

Here's an interesting Q&A from Ankerberg Theological Research Institute:
Which Translation of the Bible is Best?

A viewer writes: “I am a little frustrated with all of the English translations I have encountered having some sort of problems in the translation that I am concerned I may not be aware of if I am just reading the Bible on my own. …I just would like to know which version is the most correct translation the largest percentage of the time,…”

Dr. Ankerberg and Dr. Norman Geisler addressed the issue of translation accuracy in their series How Can You Know the Bible is the Word of God?

That was a very fair article I thought. Thanks for that!

Hi Vee,

I thought it was pretty balanced.

I mean, I agree with the conclusion of the article, at least the last half dozen paragraphs or so, where they summarized things by saying that the Word of God HAS been preserved and handed down, and we have it. This I am thankful for.

The rest I just skim read. I know about the "oldest manuscripts" debate - I studied it once and concluded that the KJV actually was translated from the best manuscripts.

But then, I'm no scholar. Personally, I read a variety of versions for balance.

Just thought I needed to clear that up. :)
