So far I have not met anyone who knows of someone or has/ had a case of the swine flu. Has anyone else?
Vote on the poll (it's two questions, so be sure to vote on both). I'll leave it up for a month.
These are the possible symptoms (not everyone with H1N1 will necessarily have all these symptoms):
- fever
- headache
- cough
- sore throat
- runny nose
- extreme fatigue
- loss of appetite
- muscle aches
- nausea, vomiting
(Looks like just about anyone could have it, so I guess your guess is as good as mine.)
I read some statistics today - don't know how accurate they are as they are from an e-mail forward. Do you know that that odds of being struck by lightening are 1 in 71,000? Death by car crash - 5,000 to 1, death by falling oout of bed - 2,000,000 to 1, drowning in bathtub, 807,000 to 1. Odds of dying from Swine flu - 8,000,000 to 1. The regular flu kills over 34,000 Americans a year. So far, 1154 people have died world wide from H1N1. So really, it's not a big deal. Makes you wonder why the worldwide focus on such a small thing. Some say it's just another big business, like the cure for cancer.
So vote on the poll. It should be interesting to see the results.

My husband has two co-workers who had swine flu. Both cases were verified by doctors. They both spent a week at home, then were fine.
Hi Yvonne,
That's reassuring to know. Thanks.
