In the following explanation, Pastor Ken Silva says these were the exercises used by the “Spiritual Gestapo unit of Ignatius.” See here:
Who is Ignatius of Loyola?

Regarding Ignatius Loyola's Exercise of Examen, T.A. McMahon of The Berean Call writes this:
Ignatian Examen is an occult visualization technique taught by Ignatius Loyola, who founded the Jesuits in the 16th century. His exercise teaches one to visualize oneself in the presence of Jesus and then interact with Him during his earthly events, e.g., "at the Last Supper and the Garden of Gethsemane, at the foot of the cross, and laying Jesus' body in the tomb."6 This has one adding content to Scripture from his imagination and opens a person to demonic manipulation (2 Corinthians 11:4; Galatians 1:8).Then there’s this thing I read, written by Chris Pinto:

JesuitsSay what? Could this counter reformation still be going on? In the light of these eye opening explanations, isn't it strange who you find promoting and participating in the spiritual exercises of Ignatius of Loyola these days? I took a quick look around and found these, for starters...
When the Bible began to be translated into the languages of the common man, it resulted in the Protestant Reformation. What few modern day Christians are aware of, however, is that Rome launched a Counter Reformation in 1540 with the establishment of the Society of Jesus (also known as the Jesuit Order). Their purpose was to destroy the work of the Reformers and bring the world back into the Dark Ages. It is our belief that the Counter Reformation continues to this day, and is the real secret behind the Ecumenical Movement, the World Council of Churches, the European Union, and the Emerging Church.
Several years ago, I met with Roger Oakland while we were still based in California. Roger had been teaching on the Emerging Church and its connections to Rome. When I first saw him, I asked: "Do you think this is the continuation of the Counter Reformation?" His immediate answer was, "Yes ..."
... which brings us to Rick Warren and Tony Blair.

As time goes by I believe that this list will get bigger!
There will always be a remnant though, the ones who have not committed spiritual adultery and have remained faith to the Word and continue to persevere.
Amen, sister!
These are the overcomers.
