Some things the Bible tells us about deception

I read two very timely things the other day. One is a very long thing and talks about what we can learn from the Bible regarding deception and how to deal with spiritual deceivers. It says that while "we need to be able to clearly and biblically enlighten believers who express an interest in the mega-personalities of television, book, and Internet fame whose materials are readily available but with whom we rarely come into personal, face-to-face contact"..." It is far more likely that the most dangerous spiritual deceivers we will have to deal with in the course of our everyday life is the wolf in sheep’s clothing trying to make inroads in our local church." Then there was this very short but good thing I read about how the Bible doesn't say the world will be converted to Christ and get better as the gospel goes out (as many of today's Christians are believing), but that "evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived".
