'Already Gone' Book Challenged

The Already Gone book is making an impact. It's filled with research about why two-thirds of young people are leaving the church. One of the surprising things discovered was that those who had attended Sunday school regularly as kids generally were worse off spiritually than those who didn’t attend regularly.

But now, someone is challenging that...
…the vice president of Sales and Marketing at Gospel Light recently sent out an e-newsletter in which he rejected outright the results of the research by Britt and which was published in Already Gone. He quoted from other research in his attempt to discredit what Britt’s America’s Research Group had carefully researched and reported on—but in doing so he unfortunately quoted research that had nothing to do with those young adults who had left the church.

The research he cited had to do with those who are still in their denomination (or who changed their denomination) and who went to Sunday school as kids. This is like comparing apples with oranges!

Anyways, the reason I was reading about that is because the author of Already Gone is coming to our area. That's right. Ken Ham will be here this weekend. Having watched a whole lot of his videos and things, I am definitely going to be hopping into my chariot to make the long journey out there tomorrow to listen to him speak and maybe even buy some books. Should be very interesting. Hope to see you there!
