Eureka! I finally have figured out what all this McLarenism stuff means. You know, this 'new kind of Christian' thing, and the 'new kind of Christianity'. In fact, McLaren himself, with his new book, has really made it so simple. Here it is, no longer a mystery, in a nutshell.
The new kind of Christian is simply this - a spiritually dead man who despises God {but a nice friendly sort of rebel who likes Jesus and does good things but is dead in his sins, has no assurance of eternal life, is walking in his own strength, trying to follow the teachings of Jesus while staying on the wide path, is very good at conversing along the way, smiles alot, speaks Humpty Dumpty to all who will listen, and is often very hard to spot among sheep.}
