As the ancient disciplines of the desert fathers make their huge come back, it appears there are some more book awards...of the contemplative variety...as the Christian book publishing industry slides further into the contemplative abyss of nothingness.

best of the best were:
- Knowing Christ Today - Why we can trust spiritual knowledge by author and Renovare staff member, the contemplative Dallas Willard.
- Longing for God - Seven paths of Christian devotion by Richard Foster and Gayle Bebee (IVP) which is about seven devotional paths illustrated by Thomas Merton, Blaise Pascal, Julian of Norwich, etc.
