What is a "Red Letter Christian"? Pastor Eric Douma and Jan explain what "red letter Christians" believe. They focus on only certain parts of the Bible and ignore much of the rest of it. It gives them fuel for being pacifists and social gospel people. Sadly, some of their leaders are Socialists and Communists. Tony Campolo is a Socialist and Jim Wallis is a Communist...Listen to this Understanding The Times program with Jan Markell, HERE.
Some other well known red letter/liberal Christians besides Tony Campolo include Shane Claiborne, Richard Rohr, Brian McLaren, Tony Jones, and Diana Butler Bass. And speaking of which, if you want to see which birds of a feather are flocking together for a conference on Emerging Christianity, go here:

It's a noble-sounding error that can easily sucker people in. Why not focus on Jesus' words? (Nevermind the fact that much of them don't make an ounce of sense unless you READ them in light of the Old Testament...)
I heard a pastor once say that our Bibles shouldn't even mark Jesus' words in red, because it conveys the message, intentional or not, that the rest of scripture carries a "lower authority" compared to Jesus' words. Perhaps instead, 2 Timothy 3v16-17 should be marked in red only?? lol
Right on Christina...and here's the passage you mention, for the sake of those who might not bother to look it up:
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Paul said he declared the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27). And funny thing that he said it just before warning about those who would come in among them and draw them away by saying perverse things. It's almost as if he was talking about the red letter Christians.
27 For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God. 28 Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. 29 For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves. 31 Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.
Acts 20
